  • Post category:Information

Specialized in biometric authentication from the vein network in multiview, Global ID  has successfully completed the Swiss Triple Impact (STI) program and becomes the first startup of the EPFL Innovation Park to do so. An important step in its transformation towards sustainability and in support of the UN Agenda 2030.

In order to respond to the challenges of sustainable development, Global ID has joined the Swiss Triple Impact STI program. This program enables companies to measure their impact in relation to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to demonstrate ways of improving. An active member of the first cohort set in the EPFL Innovation Park, Global ID has successfully completed the program and has been registered in the Swiss Triple Impact Directory as the first one of the Park.

The EPFL Innovation Park is Ecosystem Partner to the Swiss Triple Impact program. From the start, Global ID fully engaged in the program and it was noticed how quickly and effectively they managed to upgrade their processes after carefully reviewing their value chain. Collective intelligence was a key success and will surely make them stronger while they grow in the coming years”. Emma Dorée, Head of Sustainability & Real Estate Services at EPFL Innovation Park

In order to be registered in this STI directory, Global ID has implemented a considerable number of measures in the environmental and societal fields. In addition, Global ID is committed to six ambitious commitments. These commitments are published in the Directory.

Some commitments are already being implemented. Global ID is in the process of redesigning its VenoScanner, in collaboration with the ECAL (Design School in Lausanne Switzerland), which has explicitly included a relevant environmental component in its specifications for this new design.

The progress of these commitments will be the subject of regular communication by Global ID with a report at the end of 2023.

Swiss Triple Impact Program (STI):

The Swiss Triple Impact (STI) is an accessible and credible sustainability program for business developed by B Lab Switzerland, a pioneering systemic change organization that aims to transform the global economy for the benefit of all individuals, communities and the planet.

The STI is a simple, three-step program to help Swiss companies of all sizes and sectors make concrete commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By following the STI journey, companies are equipped with the tools they will need to measure and improve their social and environmental impact and contribute to the 2030 Agenda.

Once the commitments are made, companies also have the opportunity to join the STI directory, which aims to become the largest list of Swiss organizations to have made bold and concrete commitments to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda.
